This has been my hair salon for the last 10 years roughly. I have tried other black hair salons in the South London vicinity but the results were not as great as this places'. So I always find my way back here, so much so that I travel all the way from Essex to get my hair done. They are very good at weaves/braids/relaxing and everything else a black girls' hair needs ;) And all the girls know exactly what they are doing and are very professional. Solomon (the owner) is very friendly and always treats the customers well. Make sure you get the first appointment of the day on the weekend or the last one of the day as they do get very busy and the major plus with this place is that they are not extortionate!! You can buy almost any hair product here as they are very well stocked and always on hand to help. Great service and would never leave them!

I visit Essence of Nature regularly to buy hair, beauty and make-up products. The shop is incredibly well stocked and they have a huge range of hair products for Black men and women from the US and the U.K., including natural chemical free products made locally. The owner Solomon is very friendly and will do his best to help you find the right product for your hair type. It is really great to be able to go into a local black owned hair shop staffed by people that actually understand our hair. Most of the shop space is taken up with products but there is a small salon area at the back and I have had my hair done there by a lady called Fola who is very customer friendly and more importantly very knowledgeable about natural hair styles.

I first went in gingerly to get my hair done and have not looked back since! I have been using them for just under a decade now. This is a very understated quiet but friendly place to sit down, relax and be catered to. Each member of staff aim to please and take pride in their craft. Call for an appointment or drop in and hope to be slotted in. I will get comments and compliments about the outcome of my hair. All I have to do is show a pic or too from my Pinterest hairstyles board and they are away! They will also assess the texture of my hair and will advise accordingly on hair routine, treatments and products to make my hair look fantastic. You can tell when I haven't been in a long while if I have a bad hair episode.
